Springfield Mo- Auditions for Springfield Playhouse and The Skinny Improv’s production of “Rumplestilkin” will be held:

Auditions are 7pm Monday, May 28th at The Skinny Improv at 306 South Ave

Those auditioning will be asked to do cold readings from the script.

Cast requirements: All adult cast

The Show will run during the day for field trips from local day camps

All performers must be available during the day for performances.

The shows will be:
July 12 at 1 and 3pm
July 16 at 1 and 3pm
July 18 at 1 and 3pm
July 19 at 11:30, 1 and 3pm
July 23 at 1pm
July 24 at 1pm

The Skinny Improv Comedy Theatre Announces its Spring Session of Improv Classes
The Winter session of Level 1 improv classes will begin Monday, June 11 at 6 p.m. It will run for two hours once a week for the duration of 8 weeks, June 11-July 30, 2012. The class will take place at the Skinny Improv located at 306 South Avenue above Nonna’s Italian Cafe

The students will present a FREE 30 min showcase for family and friends on Thursday July 26 at 8 pm
.

The classes teach basic improvisation techniques, such as initiation of the scene and agreement. The participants will focus on learning how to feel comfortable on stage andcreate improv scenes.

The cost of the 8-week class is $160. However, if the participants decide to do the internship, which includes, but is not limited to helping with the box office and concessions, the cost will drop to $80.

Interested parties will be asked to fill out a registration form and return with a $50 deposit to hold their place in class. Space is limited.

Improv games and scenes can benefit every aspect of everyday life by building confidence of the participants, sharpening their leadership skills, as well as developing their creativity and listening skills.
The participants are guaranteed to be able to showcase their talent at the end of the 8-week class session in the short graduation show for relatives and friends.

KID-Prov Summer Camp
If your kids are creative, silly or super-creative they will love KID-Prov!

At the camp, kids will learn how to play improv games, become more confident and learn to be a member of a team. They will also learn great games applicable to situations in school, on the playground, and in everyday life.

KID-Prov will consist of half-day sessions (1pm-4pm) running June 11-15 for ages 7-11, June 18-22 for ages 7-11, and June 25-June 29 for ages 12-15.

Red Deux will have the performers get a suggestion from the audience and then by creating characters they will tell stories from that characters perspective and then the group will create scenes based off those stories.

Tickets are $5 dollars and include FREE POPCORN.

This is a laugh out loud, funny adaptation of the classic children’s story “Robin Hood” where the audience is a part of the show. The actors hide in the audience, they bring the children up to help with parts of the show and children are encouraged to come thirty minutes prior to show start to help decorate the set.
